| 7 | 7 | | relating to the distribution of money appropriated from a municipal |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subsection (d-1), Section 102.017, Code of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Criminal Procedure, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (d-1) For purposes of this article, the term "security |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | personnel, services, and items" includes: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) the purchase or repair of X-ray machines and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | conveying systems; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (2) handheld metal detectors; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (3) walkthrough metal detectors; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (4) identification cards and systems; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (5) electronic locking and surveillance equipment; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (6) bailiffs, deputy sheriffs, deputy constables, or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | contract security personnel during times when they are providing |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | appropriate security services; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (7) signage; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (8) confiscated weapon inventory and tracking |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | systems; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (9) locks, chains, alarms, or similar security |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | devices; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (10) the purchase or repair of bullet-proof glass; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | [and] |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (11) continuing education on security issues for court |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | personnel and security personnel; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (12) warrant officers and related equipment. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
