77 relating to the distribution of money appropriated from a municipal
88 court building security fund.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subsection (d-1), Section 102.017, Code of
1111 Criminal Procedure, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (d-1) For purposes of this article, the term "security
1313 personnel, services, and items" includes:
1414 (1) the purchase or repair of X-ray machines and
1515 conveying systems;
1616 (2) handheld metal detectors;
1717 (3) walkthrough metal detectors;
1818 (4) identification cards and systems;
1919 (5) electronic locking and surveillance equipment;
2020 (6) bailiffs, deputy sheriffs, deputy constables, or
2121 contract security personnel during times when they are providing
2222 appropriate security services;
2323 (7) signage;
2424 (8) confiscated weapon inventory and tracking
2525 systems;
2626 (9) locks, chains, alarms, or similar security
2727 devices;
2828 (10) the purchase or repair of bullet-proof glass;
2929 [and]
3030 (11) continuing education on security issues for court
3131 personnel and security personnel; and
3232 (12) warrant officers and related equipment.
3333 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3434 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3535 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3636 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3737 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
