                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 2, 2011      TO: Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1660 by Lucio (Relating to certain unclaimed property of veterans and veterans' families.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code and provide that the Veterans Commission, with the assistance of the Comptroller of Public Accounts, inform and assist veterans, their families, and dependants with claims for unclaimed property with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
