| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 504.202, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 10 | 10 | by adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (e-1) Other than license plates issued under Subsection | |
| 12 | 12 | (h), license plates issued under this section to a person also | |
| 13 | 13 | entitled to license plates issued under Section 504.308, 504.315, | |
| 14 | 14 | or 504.316 may, at the request of the person, include one emblem | |
| 15 | 15 | from the other license plates to which the person is entitled. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 504.315, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 17 | 17 | by adding Subsection (a) to read as follows: | |
| 18 | 18 | (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates for | |
| 19 | 19 | recipients of the Distinguished Service Medal. License plates | |
| 20 | 20 | issued under this subsection must include the Distinguished Service | |
| 21 | 21 | Medal emblem and the words "Distinguished Service Medal" at the | |
| 22 | 22 | bottom of each plate. Section 504.702 does not apply to license | |
| 23 | 23 | plates authorized by this subsection. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
