A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to requiring certain state retirees from the elected class
to contribute toward the cost of health insurance.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 1551, Insurance Code, is
amended by adding Section 1551.325 to read as follows:
Sec. 1551.325. CONTRIBUTIONS BY CERTAIN ANNUITANTS.
Notwithstanding any other law, an annuitant eligible to participate
under section 814.102, Government Code, is required to pay 15% of
the total cost attributable to that individual and the dependents
of that individual.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
