A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the design and installation of signs at low-water
crossings.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 544, Transportation Code, is amended by
adding Section 544.0101 to read as follows:
Sec. 544.0101. SIGNAGE FOR LOW-WATER CROSSING. (a) The
manual adopted under Section 544.001 must include provisions for
the design and installation of a uniform low-water crossing sign to
be used at low-water crossings in this state.
(b) The department or a local authority is not required to
replace low-water crossing signs placed before January 1, 2012.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
