10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 443, Government Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Section 443.01526 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 443.01526. AFRICAN AMERICAN TEXANS MONUMENT. The | |
13 | 13 | State Preservation Board shall establish an African American Texans | |
14 | 14 | memorial monument on the State Capitol grounds that pays tribute to | |
15 | 15 | the contributions of African Americans to the State of Texas. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Subsection (a-1), Section 443.0152, Government | |
17 | 17 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
18 | 18 | (a-1) Except as provided by Sections 443.01525 and | |
19 | 19 | 443.01526 [448.034], after September 1, 2009, no additional | |
20 | 20 | monuments may be placed on the historic grounds of the Capitol. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 3. Chapter 448, Government Code, is repealed. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
