The bill would amend the Election Code to allow a voter registrar to remove a voter from a suspense list if the determination is made that a renewal certificate was returned due to a postal service error, address reclassification, or a registrar's clerical error. The bill would require the Secretary of State (SOS) to adopt rules for the determination of the cause of a voters renewal certificate being returned undelivered and for a uniform and auditable process regarding a voters residence. SOS reported any additional costs could be reasonably absorbed using existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
