77 relating to the authority of the Texas Holocaust and Genocide
88 Commission to participate in the establishment and operation of an
99 affiliated nonprofit organization and provide grants.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 449.052, Government Code, is amended by
1212 adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
1313 (e) The commission may provide matching grants to assist in
1414 the implementation of the commission's goals and objectives.
1515 SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 449.053, Government
1616 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1717 (a) The commission may accept gifts and grants from a public
1818 or private source for the commission to use in performing the
1919 commission's powers and duties under this chapter. The commission
2020 may participate in the establishment and operation of an affiliated
2121 nonprofit organization whose purpose is to raise funds for or
2222 provide services or other benefits to the commission.
2323 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2424 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2525 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2626 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2727 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
