77 relating to certain information provided by local workforce

99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 2308, Government Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 2308.3171 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 2308.3171. INFORMATION ON QUALITY CHILD CARE. (a) In
1313 this section, "quality child-care indicator" means any appropriate
1414 indicator of quality services, including whether the provider of
1515 the services:
1616 (1) meets the Texas Rising Star Provider criteria
1717 described by commission rules;
1818 (2) is accredited by a nationally recognized
1919 accrediting organization approved by the commission;
2020 (3) is certified under the school readiness
2121 certification system established under Section 29.161, Education
2222 Code;
2323 (4) meets standards developed under Section
2424 29.155(g), Education Code; or
2525 (5) has achieved any other measurable target that is
2626 relevant to improving the quality of child care in this state and
2727 that has been approved by the commission.
2828 (b) Each board shall provide information on quality
2929 child-care indicators for each licensed or registered child-care
3030 provider in the area.
3131 (c) Each board shall determine the manner in which to
3232 provide the information required by this section.
3333 SECTION 2. Each local workforce development board shall
3434 implement Section 2308.3171, Government Code, as added by this Act,
3535 not later than January 1, 2012.
3636 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
