77 relating to eliminating certain reporting, planning, student
88 developmental, and other requirements imposed on the Texas Higher
99 Education Coordinating Board or public institutions of higher
1010 education.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Subsection (n), Section 51.3062, Education Code,
1313 is amended to read as follows:
1414 (n) Each institution of higher education, except a medical
1515 and dental unit, shall report annually to the board on the success
1616 of its students and the effectiveness of its Success Initiative.
1717 SECTION 2. The following provisions are repealed:
1818 (1) Sections 61.086 and 61.9685, Education Code; and
1919 (2) Section 2056.011, Government Code.
2020 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2121 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2222 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2323 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2424 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
