9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Health and Safety | |
11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 61.067 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 61.067. EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM. (a) A public | |
13 | 13 | hospital or hospital district may establish procedures consistent | |
14 | 14 | with those used by the Health and Human Services Commission under | |
15 | 15 | Chapter 31, Human Resources Code, for administering an employment | |
16 | 16 | services program and requiring an applicant or eligible resident to | |
17 | 17 | register for work with the Texas Workforce Commission. | |
18 | 18 | (b) The public hospital or hospital district shall notify | |
19 | 19 | each person with a pending application and all eligible residents | |
20 | 20 | of the requirements of the employment services program not less | |
21 | 21 | than 30 days before the program is established. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
23 | 23 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
