99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Health and Safety
1111 Code, is amended by adding Section 61.067 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 61.067. EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM. (a) A public
1313 hospital or hospital district may establish procedures consistent
1414 with those used by the Health and Human Services Commission under
1515 Chapter 31, Human Resources Code, for administering an employment
1616 services program and requiring an applicant or eligible resident to
1717 register for work with the Texas Workforce Commission.
1818 (b) The public hospital or hospital district shall notify
1919 each person with a pending application and all eligible residents
2020 of the requirements of the employment services program not less
2121 than 30 days before the program is established.
2222 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2323 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2424 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2525 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2626 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
