7 | 7 | | relating to certain reports, communications, publications, and |
---|
8 | 8 | | other documents involving the attorney general. |
---|
9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 61.0815, Education Code, |
---|
11 | 11 | | is amended to read as follows: |
---|
12 | 12 | | (c) The [attorney general and the] president of each |
---|
13 | 13 | | institution of higher education shall collect all necessary data |
---|
14 | 14 | | for inclusion in the report required by this section. |
---|
15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 231.005, Family Code, is |
---|
16 | 16 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
17 | 17 | | (a) The Title IV-D agency shall report to the legislature |
---|
18 | 18 | | each biennium on: |
---|
19 | 19 | | (1) the effectiveness of the agency's child support |
---|
20 | 20 | | enforcement activity in reducing the state's public assistance |
---|
21 | 21 | | obligations; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | (2) the use and effectiveness of all enforcement tools |
---|
23 | 23 | | authorized by state or federal law or otherwise available to the |
---|
24 | 24 | | agency[; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | [(3) the progress and impact of the Title IV-D agency's |
---|
26 | 26 | | efforts to use private contractors to perform Title IV-D program |
---|
27 | 27 | | functions]. |
---|
28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. Section 41.002, Government Code, is amended to |
---|
29 | 29 | | read as follows: |
---|
30 | 30 | | Sec. 41.002. NOTIFICATION OF ADDRESS. Each district and |
---|
31 | 31 | | county attorney shall notify the [attorney general and] comptroller |
---|
32 | 32 | | of his post office address as soon as practicable after his election |
---|
33 | 33 | | and qualification. |
---|
34 | 34 | | SECTION 4. Subsections (a) and (c), Section 242.005, Health |
---|
35 | 35 | | and Safety Code, are amended to read as follows: |
---|
36 | 36 | | (a) The department [and the attorney general each] shall |
---|
37 | 37 | | prepare annually a full report of the operation and administration |
---|
38 | 38 | | of the department's [their respective] responsibilities under this |
---|
39 | 39 | | chapter, including recommendations and suggestions considered |
---|
40 | 40 | | advisable. |
---|
41 | 41 | | (c) The department [and the attorney general] shall submit |
---|
42 | 42 | | the required report [reports] to the governor and the legislature |
---|
43 | 43 | | not later than October 1 of each year. |
---|
44 | 44 | | SECTION 5. Subsection (c), Section 247.050, Health and |
---|
45 | 45 | | Safety Code, is amended to read as follows: |
---|
46 | 46 | | (c) The department [and the attorney general] shall file a |
---|
47 | 47 | | copy of the quarterly reports required by this section with the |
---|
48 | 48 | | substantive committees of each house of the legislature with |
---|
49 | 49 | | jurisdiction over regulation of assisted living facilities. |
---|
50 | 50 | | SECTION 6. Subsection (b), Section 311.016, Tax Code, as |
---|
51 | 51 | | amended by Chapters 977 (H.B. 1820) and 1094 (H.B. 2120), Acts of |
---|
52 | 52 | | the 79th Legislature, Regular Session, 2005, is reenacted and |
---|
53 | 53 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
54 | 54 | | (b) The municipality or county shall send a copy of a report |
---|
55 | 55 | | made under this section to[: |
---|
56 | 56 | | [(1) the attorney general; and |
---|
57 | 57 | | [(2)] the comptroller. |
---|
58 | 58 | | SECTION 7. The following provisions are repealed: |
---|
59 | 59 | | (1) Subsection (e), Section 236.002, Family Code; |
---|
60 | 60 | | (2) Section 402.034, Government Code; |
---|
61 | 61 | | (3) Section 481.168, Government Code; |
---|
62 | 62 | | (4) Section 2107.005, Government Code; |
---|
63 | 63 | | (5) Subsection (b), Section 247.050, Health and Safety |
---|
64 | 64 | | Code; |
---|
65 | 65 | | (6) Section 240.903, Local Government Code; and |
---|
66 | 66 | | (7) Section 395.082, Local Government Code. |
---|
67 | 67 | | SECTION 8. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
68 | 68 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
69 | 69 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
70 | 70 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
71 | 71 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
---|
