66 AN ACT
77 relating to certain reports, communications, publications, and
88 other documents involving the attorney general.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 61.0815, Education Code,
1111 is amended to read as follows:
1212 (c) The [attorney general and the] president of each
1313 institution of higher education shall collect all necessary data
1414 for inclusion in the report required by this section.
1515 SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 231.005, Family Code, is
1616 amended to read as follows:
1717 (a) The Title IV-D agency shall report to the legislature
1818 each biennium on:
1919 (1) the effectiveness of the agency's child support
2020 enforcement activity in reducing the state's public assistance
2121 obligations; and
2222 (2) the use and effectiveness of all enforcement tools
2323 authorized by state or federal law or otherwise available to the
2424 agency[; and
2525 [(3) the progress and impact of the Title IV-D agency's
2626 efforts to use private contractors to perform Title IV-D program
2727 functions].
2828 SECTION 3. Section 41.002, Government Code, is amended to
2929 read as follows:
3030 Sec. 41.002. NOTIFICATION OF ADDRESS. Each district and
3131 county attorney shall notify the [attorney general and] comptroller
3232 of his post office address as soon as practicable after his election
3333 and qualification.
3434 SECTION 4. Subsections (a) and (c), Section 242.005, Health
3535 and Safety Code, are amended to read as follows:
3636 (a) The department [and the attorney general each] shall
3737 prepare annually a full report of the operation and administration
3838 of the department's [their respective] responsibilities under this
3939 chapter, including recommendations and suggestions considered
4040 advisable.
4141 (c) The department [and the attorney general] shall submit
4242 the required report [reports] to the governor and the legislature
4343 not later than October 1 of each year.
4444 SECTION 5. Subsection (c), Section 247.050, Health and
4545 Safety Code, is amended to read as follows:
4646 (c) The department [and the attorney general] shall file a
4747 copy of the quarterly reports required by this section with the
4848 substantive committees of each house of the legislature with
4949 jurisdiction over regulation of assisted living facilities.
5050 SECTION 6. Subsection (b), Section 311.016, Tax Code, as
5151 amended by Chapters 977 (H.B. 1820) and 1094 (H.B. 2120), Acts of
5252 the 79th Legislature, Regular Session, 2005, is reenacted and
5353 amended to read as follows:
5454 (b) The municipality or county shall send a copy of a report
5555 made under this section to[:
5656 [(1) the attorney general; and
5757 [(2)] the comptroller.
5858 SECTION 7. The following provisions are repealed:
5959 (1) Subsection (e), Section 236.002, Family Code;
6060 (2) Section 402.034, Government Code;
6161 (3) Section 481.168, Government Code;
6262 (4) Section 2107.005, Government Code;
6363 (5) Subsection (b), Section 247.050, Health and Safety
6464 Code;
6565 (6) Section 240.903, Local Government Code; and
6666 (7) Section 395.082, Local Government Code.
6767 SECTION 8. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
6868 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
6969 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
7070 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
7171 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
