| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 372, Local Government | |
| 12 | 12 | Code, is amended by adding Section 372.0175 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 372.0175. CONTRACTS FOR COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS. | |
| 14 | 14 | The governing body of a municipality or county may contract with the | |
| 15 | 15 | governing body of another taxing unit, as defined by Section 1.04, | |
| 16 | 16 | Tax Code, or the board of directors of an appraisal district to | |
| 17 | 17 | perform the duties of the municipality or county relating to | |
| 18 | 18 | collection of special assessments levied under this subchapter. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
