| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subdivision (5), Section 135.011, Education |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (5) "Campus" means a [residential] unit of the system |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | that grants associate degrees and certificates. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 135.02, Education Code, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (a) The Texas State Technical College System is composed of: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) a system office located in the city of Waco in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | McLennan County; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) a campus located in the city of Harlingen in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Cameron County; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (3) a campus serving West Texas that operates as a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | collective unit of strategically positioned permanent locations |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | [located] in the city of Sweetwater in Nolan County, the city of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Abilene in Taylor County, the city of Brownwood in Brown County, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the city of Breckenridge in Stephens County; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (4) a campus located in the city of Marshall in |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Harrison County; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (5) a campus located in the city of Waco in McLennan |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | County; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (6) [extension centers in the city of Brownwood in |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Brown County and the city of Abilene in Taylor County and an |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | extension program offered through a rural technology center in the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | city of Breckenridge in Stephens County; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | [(7) other] campuses assigned to the system from time |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | to time by specific legislative Act. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
