77 relating to the Texas State Technical College System.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subdivision (5), Section 135.011, Education
1010 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1111 (5) "Campus" means a [residential] unit of the system
1212 that grants associate degrees and certificates.
1313 SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 135.02, Education Code,
1414 is amended to read as follows:
1515 (a) The Texas State Technical College System is composed of:
1616 (1) a system office located in the city of Waco in
1717 McLennan County;
1818 (2) a campus located in the city of Harlingen in
1919 Cameron County;
2020 (3) a campus serving West Texas that operates as a
2121 collective unit of strategically positioned permanent locations
2222 [located] in the city of Sweetwater in Nolan County, the city of
2323 Abilene in Taylor County, the city of Brownwood in Brown County, and
2424 the city of Breckenridge in Stephens County;
2525 (4) a campus located in the city of Marshall in
2626 Harrison County;
2727 (5) a campus located in the city of Waco in McLennan
2828 County; and
2929 (6) [extension centers in the city of Brownwood in
3030 Brown County and the city of Abilene in Taylor County and an
3131 extension program offered through a rural technology center in the
3232 city of Breckenridge in Stephens County; and
3333 [(7) other] campuses assigned to the system from time
3434 to time by specific legislative Act.
3535 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3636 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3737 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3838 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3939 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
