88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 111.001, Family Code, is amended to read
1010 as follows:
1111 Sec. 111.001. REVIEW OF GUIDELINES. (a) Prior to each
1212 regular legislative session, the standing committees of each house
1313 of the legislature having jurisdiction over family law issues shall
1414 review and, if necessary, recommend revisions to the guidelines for
1515 possession of and access to a child under Chapter 153 [and for
1616 support of a child under Chapter 154]. The committee shall report
1717 the results of the review and shall include any recommended
1818 revisions in the committee's report to the legislature.
1919 (b) At least once every four years [Not later than December
2020 1 of each even-numbered year], the Title IV-D agency shall review
2121 the child support guidelines under Chapter 154 as required by 42
2222 U.S.C. Section 667(a) and report the results of the review and any
2323 recommendations for any changes to the guidelines and their manner
2424 of application [submit a report] to the standing committees of each
2525 house of the legislature having jurisdiction over family law issues
2626 [for use by the committee in conducting the review required by
2727 Subsection (a). The report must contain:
2828 [(1) economic data obtained from the United States
2929 Department of Agriculture on the cost of raising children;
3030 [(2) an analysis of case data on the application of and
3131 deviations from the child support guidelines; and
3232 [(3) a summary of any federal legislation enacted
3333 since the date of the last review].
3434 SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2013, the Title IV-D
3535 agency shall submit the initial report required by Subsection (b),
3636 Section 111.001, Family Code, as amended by this Act.
3737 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
