10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 2175.304, Government Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (e) Notwithstanding Subsections (b) and (c), a university | |
14 | 14 | system or institution or agency of higher education included within | |
15 | 15 | the definition of "state agency" under Section 2151.002 may donate | |
16 | 16 | data processing equipment that is surplus or salvage property to a | |
17 | 17 | public or private hospital located in a rural county. For purposes | |
18 | 18 | of this subsection, "rural county" has the meaning assigned by | |
19 | 19 | Section 487.301. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
