| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subdivision (5), Section 1452.101, Insurance | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (5) "Medical group" means: | |
| 13 | 13 | (A) a single legal entity owned by two or more | |
| 14 | 14 | physicians; | |
| 15 | 15 | (B) a professional association composed of | |
| 16 | 16 | licensed physicians; [or] | |
| 17 | 17 | (C) any other business entity composed of | |
| 18 | 18 | licensed physicians as permitted under Subchapter B, Chapter 162, | |
| 19 | 19 | Occupations Code; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (D) two or more physicians on the medical staff | |
| 21 | 21 | of, or teaching at, a medical school or medical and dental unit, as | |
| 22 | 22 | defined or described by Section 61.003, 61.501, or 74.601, | |
| 23 | 23 | Education Code. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
