                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 21, 2011      TO: Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB957 by Birdwell (Relating to the clarification of terminology relating to the Waco Center for Youth.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill amends Section 554.001 of the Health and Safety Code to clarify that juveniles may be admitted to the Waco Center for Youth without having to necessarily be committed on an order of commitment of the Texas Mental Health Code.  This is simply a clarification of existing law. This act would take effect immediately if it receives two-thirds vote of all members of each house. If it does not receive the necessary votes it would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
