                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1016
 In Memory
 of
 Loren Hall
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of Loren Hall,
 who died May 8, 2011, at the age of 83; and
 WHEREAS, Loren Hall was an exemplary citizen who was
 greatly admired and respected in his community for the effect he
 had on the city's musical landscape; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hall created band programs at King, Carroll,
 Tuloso-Midway, and Orange Grove High Schools, serving as a mentor
 to countless young musicians and having a profound impact on his
 students; and
 WHEREAS, A supremely talented trombonist, Mr. Hall was a
 charter member of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and
 conducted the Corpus Christi Municipal Band; he organized the
 band's summer concert programs in Cole Park for decades, bringing
 classical and big band music to the public; and
 WHEREAS, A man of strength and kindness, he gave generously
 to others, and his passion for music and his enthusiasm for
 living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Loren Hall; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Loren Hall.
