SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Celeste Prather-Young, who has been named the recipient of the 2010 Executive Director of the Year Award by Texas Court Appointed Special Advocates; and WHEREAS, Executive director of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hunt County, Celeste Prather-Young has worked tirelessly to further the organization's mission of providing trained volunteers to serve as the voice of children who are under the protection of the state and to assure them a safe, stable, and permanent environment; and WHEREAS, Court Appointed Special Advocates was founded in 1977 to ensure that the abuse and neglect suffered by children at home does not continue once those children are put in the hands of the system; its volunteers are appointed by judges to serve as advocates for those children in court and to work toward placing them into a safe, loving home; and WHEREAS, Celeste Prather-Young is truly deserving of recognition for her many outstanding achievements in leading Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hunt County; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Celeste Prather-Young on her commitment to serving the most vulnerable in our society and extend congratulations to her on receiving the 2010 Executive Director of the Year Award by Texas Court Appointed Special Advocates; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
