SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1030 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Adolfo Alvarez Sr. on the joyous occasion of his 80th birthday on May 27, 2011; and WHEREAS, Adolfo Alvarez was born on May 27, 1931, in Harlingen, Texas; he married Guadalupe Morales in 1956, and the couple has been blessed with nine children, 19 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild; and WHEREAS, A resident of Pearsall, Mr. Alvarez served as a Frio County commissioner from 1980 to 2000; he was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to serve on the Commission on Aging, and he is a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9185; he is a veteran of the Korean War; and WHEREAS, Since 1973, he has been the owner of A & A Auto Parts; he has retail stores in Pearsall, Dilley, and Cotulla; and WHEREAS, Adolfo Alvarez is respected for his accomplishments and for his leadership in the community, and he is a source of strength and support to his family and his many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Adolfo Alvarez Sr. for his achievements and extend best wishes to him on the occasion of his 80th birthday; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him in honor of this special occasion.
