SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1058
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Pastor Ellery A. Richard for his outstanding service to
his congregation and his community; and
WHEREAS, Pastor of Second Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church
in Houston, he has ministered faithfully to the temporal and
spiritual needs of countless people; and
WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others,
this beloved pastor has devoted his time and energy unselfishly
to the members of his church and the residents of Houston; he has
a passion for teaching people how to practice their faith in
their daily lives and for mentoring young preachers in the
performance of their duties in the ministry; and
WHEREAS, A man of vision and spiritual depth, Pastor
Richard has performed countless ceremonies and has prayed with
and counseled his congregation during times of hardship and
bereavement and rejoiced with them in times of abundance and
celebration; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Richard is an accomplished scholar and
theologian who furthered his academic studies at Houston Baptist
University; he has had a profound influence on the lives of
countless people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Pastor Ellery A. Richard on his
exceptional service to his church and his community and extend to
him best wishes for continued success in all his future
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
