SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 115 In Memory of Artemisa Salinas WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of El Paso in mourning the loss of Artemisa "Arte" Salinas, who died January 15, 2011, at the age of 78; and WHEREAS, Arte Salinas was a well-liked employee at H&H Car Wash and Coffee Shop for more than two decades; she was especially notable for her smile that seemed to light up a room; and WHEREAS, She was known as being a tough and courageous woman who was also a gentle and caring person; she was credited with much of the success of the famous coffee shop and restaurant; and WHEREAS, Her warm personality and unique sense of humor endeared her to her customers and to all who knew her; and WHEREAS, Arte Salinas was a remarkable lady who enriched the lives of all who knew her with her courage, her kindness, and her generosity; she will be deeply missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Artemisa Salinas and extend sincere condolences to those she left behind; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Artemisa Salinas.
