SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 130 WHEREAS, Paul Leslie Francis of Troop 782 has recently been honored by the Boy Scout program for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Paul planned, developed, and conducted a service project that has benefited his community, and he is recognized as an outstanding leader; Paul's project involved cleaning up the Ten Mile Creek Nature Preserve in Lancaster and repairing trails and the parking lot after massive flooding had damaged the park in 2009; and WHEREAS, Paul has brought great honor to himself in earning the coveted Eagle Badge, and his family, his troop, his community, and his state are justly proud of his great accomplishment; and WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and promise, this personable young man advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Paul has become one of the select few who have earned this prestigious honor, and he is a shining example to the young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby congratulate Paul Leslie Francis on becoming an Eagle Scout and commend him on this great achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Francis as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
