SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 167
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join the members of the Academic Language Therapy Association in
recognizing February 16, 2011, as Dyslexia Awareness Day at the
Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Incorporated in 1986, the Academic Language
Therapy Association is a national nonprofit professional
organization that is headquartered in Dallas, Texas; and
WHEREAS, The association's mission is to help its members
maintain high standards and provide the highest quality service
possible to students with dyslexia and related disorders; and
WHEREAS, The association publishes a national registry of
certified academic language therapists, maintains a telephone
helpline, and is a resource for information on licensure for
language therapists; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby recognize the Academic Language Therapy
Association on the occasion of its 25th anniversary and extend to
its members best regards on Dyslexia Awareness Day at the
Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the Academic Language Therapy Association on the occasion of
Dyslexia Awareness Day at the Capitol.
