SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 217 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join the citizens of Harris County in celebrating the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Harris County Hospital District's Lyndon Baines Johnson Emergency Center expansion and renovation, which is taking place February 23, 2011; and WHEREAS, This state-of-the-art facility will help the district further increase the effectiveness of its health care delivery system by improving patient access to services, reducing wait times, and offering patients a full array of emergency and other critical health care services; and WHEREAS, This expansion will nearly double the center's area and will house an imaging suite, X-ray rooms, a diagnostic ultrasound room, a pediatric emergency center station, psychiatric examination rooms, and numerous other valuable features; and WHEREAS, The Harris County Hospital District is dedicated to the principle that all patients should receive high-quality health care at the right time, from the right people, and in the right location; the expansion of this vital facility is a reflection of the district's commitment to meeting the needs of the people of Harris County; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend the Harris County Hospital District on its commitment to providing outstanding health care services to the residents of Harris County and extend best wishes for a memorable ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Lyndon Baines Johnson Emergency Center; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the center as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
