SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 284 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize David Yett, who is retiring after more than a decade of outstanding service as city attorney for the City of Fort Worth; and WHEREAS, David Yett rose to the position of city attorney in February of 2000 after serving the people of Fort Worth for 20 years in the city's legal department, where he worked on a variety of legal issues related to economic development, including the creation of the Texas Motor Speedway and the renovation of the Blackstone Hotel; and WHEREAS, A 1979 graduate of the Baylor University School of Law, Mr. Yett has throughout his career been known for his good judgment, his decisiveness, and his organizational skills; and WHEREAS, He is an exemplary attorney and public servant who has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and his presence at the Fort Worth city attorney's office will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend David Yett on his exceptional service as Fort Worth's city attorney and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
