SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 333 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Angela Leal, for whom a new elementary school in the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District was recently named; and WHEREAS, The district named its new $7.6 million school in La Paloma in her honor as a tribute to her many years of outstanding service in the field of education and to her service as the district's first Hispanic principal; and WHEREAS, Angela Leal was a successful elementary school teacher who was beloved by her students; while serving as a fourth-grade teacher, she was appointed principal of Los Indios Elementary School, where she served for 32 years and became largely responsible for the strong student, faculty, and community relationships that characterized the school; and WHEREAS, Angela Leal's talents in the areas of instruction and administration were long admired by her fellow educators; and WHEREAS, Due to her superior leadership, innumerable students have distinguished themselves in their educational endeavors and in the workplace; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby express sincere appreciation to Angela Leal for her notable achievements and her years of dedication to the field of education and extend congratulations to her on having a school in the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District named in her honor; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
