SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 335
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rogelio Fuentes on the occasion of his retirement from
the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services after 38
years of loyal service to the state; and
WHEREAS, A native of the Rio Grande Valley, Rogelio Fuentes
was born and raised in McAllen; he earned a bachelor's degree
from The University of Texas--Pan American, then known as Pan
American University, in 1972 and began working as a welfare service
technician for the Texas Department of Public Welfare; and
WHEREAS, Over the next 38 years, during which the
department went through several name changes, Mr. Fuentes served
in various capacities and rose to the position of regional
director of community services for Region 11, the position from
which he is retiring; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fuentes handled his many responsibilities
with exceptional efficiency and dedication; he maintained an
ethical work environment and fostered positive teamwork; he
provided supportive leadership and implemented innovative ideas
while ensuring that quality services were being provided to this
state's most vulnerable citizens, the aged and those with
disabilities; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mr. Fuentes has
demonstrated exceptional talent and skill throughout his career;
he has earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues, and
his presence as regional director of community services for
Region 11 of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability
Services will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Rogelio Fuentes for his valuable
service to the people of this state and extend to him best wishes
for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
