                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 360
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Judge Caprice Cosper for her many outstanding
 contributions to the administration of justice in our state; and
 WHEREAS, Currently serving as director of the Office of
 Criminal Justice Coordination for Harris County, Judge Cosper
 has played a vital role in developing more innovative, effective,
 and economical ways to advance rehabilitative justice; and
 WHEREAS, Judge Cosper has been a leader in the development
 of Harris County's groundbreaking, progressive drug court
 program, Success Through Addiction Recovery; this outstanding
 initiative has been nationally recognized as a success and has
 served as a model for similar drug courts; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of a notable career on the bench,
 Judge Cosper presided over more than 25,000 felony cases and
 nearly 500 jury trials; she was named Judge of the Year in 2004 by
 the Criminal Section of the State Bar of Texas; and
 WHEREAS, Dedicated to the principle of equal justice under
 the law, Judge Cosper has served the people of Harris County with
 distinction, and she is truly deserving of recognition for her
 ongoing efforts to improve the Texas criminal justice system;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby commend Judge Caprice Cosper on her many
 contributions to the legal community and extend to her best
 wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
