SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 376 In Memory of Fred T. Rangel WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Stockton and Balmorhea in mourning the loss of Fred T. Rangel, who died January 23, 2011, at the age of 43; and WHEREAS, Fred Rangel was born May 13, 1967, in Fort Stockton to Mary and Cuco Rangel; he attended local schools and graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1985; and WHEREAS, Fred loved life, his family, and the people in the community; he greatly enjoyed serving his community and volunteered countless hours with the Fort Stockton Fire Department; he and the love of his life, Lori Diebitsch, had recently created a second home in Balmorhea; and WHEREAS, He was a coach and umpire for youth sports, and at Halloween, he delighted in creating a scary holiday for children; and WHEREAS, An admired and respected member of his community, Fred was truly loved by the people of his West Texas community, and he will be deeply missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Fred T. Rangel: his parents, Mary and Cuco Rangel; his sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Garcia and Bernardo; his brother and sister-in-law, Edward Rangel and Jeny; his grandfather, Pete Tavarez; and his many other relatives; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fred T. Rangel.
