SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 501
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Knox Hayes Matthews on the occasion of his seventh
birthday; and
WHEREAS, Knox was born March 15, 2004, in San Antonio; he
attends kindergarten, but eagerly awaits the challenges and
adventures of first grade at Trinity Episcopal School in Austin,
where his excellent skills in mathematics, language, and art will
serve him well; and
WHEREAS, He is a very good big brother to his younger
brother Hale, and his parents, Stephanie and Matt Matthews, are
extremely proud of him; and
WHEREAS, Knox loves the outdoors and the beaches of the Texas
Gulf Coast; he is an outstanding swimmer and fisherman in addition
to being an avid soccer, baseball, and football player; and
WHEREAS, The future is bright for Knox, who hopes to attend
college in China and become an astronaut; it is fitting that this
exemplary young man be recognized as he observes this very
important day; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Knox Hayes Matthews as
he celebrates his seventh birthday; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
