SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 576
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join
the citizens of Burleson and Texans across the state in celebrating
March 29, 2011, as Burleson Chamber Day at the Capitol; and
WHEREAS, The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce was founded
in 1966 by a group of dedicated members of the Burleson Lions
Club; it has grown to become one of the most active chambers of
commerce in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary organization performs a number of
vital services for the rapidly growing City of Burleson, including
event planning, cooperating with volunteers and community service
groups, and working to welcome new citizens and businesses to the
area; and
WHEREAS, The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce has played
an important role in the development of a transit-oriented plan
for the city that will encourage the development of high-density
housing, support the creation of new jobs, and attract new
industry to the area; and
WHEREAS, The City of Burleson covers more than 24 square
miles and contains ample space for economic expansion; blessed
with a low property tax environment and a committed citizenry,
the community is looking forward to a bright future while
continuing to embrace its rich history; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend the Burleson Area Chamber of
Commerce on its outstanding efforts on behalf of the community
and extend best wishes for a memorable Burleson Chamber Day at
the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
