SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 58
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Carlota Vasquez on the grand occasion of her 90th
birthday; and
WHEREAS, This gracious lady is well known for her charm and
generosity of spirit, and she is a lifelong resident of Austin;
and
WHEREAS, Carlota Vasquez was born January 17, 1921; she was
married for 55 years to the late David Vasquez, Sr., with whom she
raised 11 children; she has been blessed with a large and loving
extended family, which has grown to include many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Vasquez continues to pursue hobbies, like
solving crossword puzzles, which serve to sharpen her still-keen
intellect; and
WHEREAS, In celebration of her birthday, members of her
family are gathering on January 17, 2011, to congratulate her and
share in this milestone in her life; and
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
she is noted for her good nature and compassion and her
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby recognize Carlota Vasquez as a treasured
citizen of Austin and our state and extend to her best wishes for
her 90th birthday; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
