SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 591 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Sister Kathleen Coughlin, CCVI, who has been selected for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in the field of higher education; and WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and WHEREAS, Sister Kathleen served for six years as the provincial superior for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word; she is currently vice president of the University of the Incarnate Word, and her particular interest is in the field of health care education and service with the Catholic Health Association; and WHEREAS, Sister Kathleen has been instrumental in the remodeling of the University of the Incarnate Word School of Nursing, and she supported the development of the university's Feik School of Pharmacy and its Rosenberg School of Optometry; and WHEREAS, Sister Kathleen is highly respected for her dedication to her work and for her exceptional accomplishments in the field of higher education; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Sister Kathleen Coughlin for her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
