                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 683
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Harmony Science Academy of Grand Prairie for its
 commitment to excellence in education; and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 2000, Harmony Science Academy of Grand
 Prairie is one of a number of partner schools that serve more than
 16,000 students at 33 campuses throughout the Lone Star State;
 each institution is dedicated to helping young Texans achieve
 their full potential in all subjects, with special emphasis on
 mathematics, science, and computer technology; and
 WHEREAS, Harmony Science Academy of Grand Prairie is rated
 Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency, and its students have
 excelled in a variety of academic competitions; they have
 displayed a wide range of talents and a dedication to learning
 and have earned top honors in the most challenging competitions
 in the state; and
 WHEREAS, These distinguished students include Daye
 Castillo, who placed first in cell and molecular biology at the
 2011 Dallas Regional Science Fair; Elizabeth Chaides, who won
 first place in the 2011 International Language Olympiad for her
 lovely singing voice; Aurelio Hernandez, who took first place
 honors at the 2010 HRL Robotics Competition and also earned
 honorable mention in chemistry at the 2011 Dallas Regional
 Science Fair; Gabriel Frugie, who in his first year at Harmony
 earned honorable mention in biochemistry at the 2011 Dallas
 Regional Science Fair; Ty Curry and Khalid Shqeir, who placed
 first at the 2010 Science Olympiad State Competition; and
 Alejandro Waumann, who earned honorable mention in microbiology
 and plant sciences at the 2011 Dallas Regional Science Fair, as
 well as first place in the 2011 Science Olympiad; and
 WHEREAS, Committed to its innovative, high-quality system
 of education, Harmony Science Academy is building a solid
 foundation for the future achievement of many young Texans; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby commend the students, teachers,
 administrators, and staff of Harmony Science Academy of Grand
 Prairie on their dedication and their many achievements; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 them as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
