SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 70 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Senior Patrol Officer IV Jose M. Mendoza, who is retiring after 25 years of loyal service with the Brownsville Police Department; and WHEREAS, Highly respected by his colleagues, Officer Mendoza is well known for his dedication to his profession and for his superior courage and leadership; and WHEREAS, Throughout his successful career, he has manifested uncommon talent in managing the far-reaching responsibilities of a police officer, and he is admired by citizens throughout the community for his high standards and professionalism; and WHEREAS, As a member of the department's Patrol Division, Officer Mendoza has been focused on investigating traffic accidents, enforcing traffic laws, and ensuring to the best of his ability the safety of Brownsville's commuters; and WHEREAS, In addition, he has served as a field training officer, and he received an Employee Recognition Award in 2004 and in 2006 for his exceptional work as an instructor; and WHEREAS, An outstanding police officer, he has always been on the alert to assist those in need and has consistently displayed expertise and sound judgment in dealing with the unique challenges of law enforcement duty; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Officer Jose M. Mendoza on his exceptional career with the Brownsville Police Department and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
