SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 720 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in recognizing Danielle Doty, who holds the well-earned title of 2011 Miss Texas Teen USA; and WHEREAS, Danielle was crowned 2011 Miss Texas Teen USA on November 28, 2010, in Houston, where she competed with 116 contestants from across Texas; she is the first teen from the Rio Grande Valley region to earn the title; and WHEREAS, Danielle is a senior at Harlingen High School South; she is currently ranked ninth in her class and is an all-A honor roll student, a Texas Scholar, and a member of the National Honor Society; she is a highly accomplished dancer and cheerleader; and WHEREAS, Danielle participates in the student council, the Key Club, Hawks for Christ, Young Life, and Fields of Faith; in the fall of this year, she will begin her freshman year at Baylor University, where she will major in communications; and WHEREAS, Danielle is an exemplary young lady who takes seriously the duties of Miss Texas Teen USA; she will represent Texas this summer in the national pageant for teenagers, the Miss Teen USA pageant; she is dedicated to representing her state with grace and dignity, and her many interests and accomplishments reflect her sincerity and hard work; a role model for all young Texans, she sets high standards, and her pursuit of excellence in all of her endeavors is an inspiration to others; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby congratulate Danielle Doty on her exceptional achievements and on earning the title of 2011 Miss Texas Teen USA and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
