                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 731
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Mary Evelyn Still Bales on the grand occasion of her
 90th birthday, on April 26, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Mary Evelyn Still was born on April 26, 1921, in
 Oak Grove, Texas; her early years were spent on a fruit farm, and
 in 1927, she moved with her family to Sherman; after the
 Depression, the family eventually settled in Russett, Oklahoma,
 where Mary Evelyn graduated from high school; and
 WHEREAS, Mary married Jack Bales in 1939, and the couple
 moved to Washington, D.C., where Jack began his career with the
 Federal Bureau of Investigation as an employee in the Fingerprint
 Division; Mary also joined the Fingerprint Division, and the
 couple made lifelong friends while working there; and
 WHEREAS, After Jack joined the Special Agent Division,
 they lived in Cincinnati and Birmingham before returning to
 Oklahoma for assignments in several different cities; after his
 retirement, the couple moved to Oklahoma City in 1974; Jack
 passed away in 1985, and in 2009, Mary moved to The Woodlands,
 Texas; and
 WHEREAS, Mary and Jack were blessed with four children, 10
 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Mary is beloved by her children and
 grandchildren, and she is an exemplary lady who is known for her
 friendly manner, her courage, and her enthusiasm for living each
 day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby extend congratulations and best wishes for
 the future to Mary Evelyn Still Bales on the occasion of her 90th
 birthday; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
