SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 769 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to congratulate Suki Steinhauser on receiving the Executive Director of the Year Award from Communities In Schools of Texas; and WHEREAS, Communities In Schools is part of a nationwide program whose mission is to help young people stay in school, learn, and prepare for a successful life by providing school-based social services and links to community resources; and WHEREAS, Communities In Schools recognizes that effective dropout prevention must be a community effort; the Communities In Schools state office annually honors outstanding Texans from different areas of service for their commitment to students and families, the community at large, and the Communities In Schools program; and WHEREAS, An exceptionally resourceful and talented administrator, Suki Steinhauser has worked with Communities In Schools of Central Texas for more than 15 years and has helped to create a comprehensive network of services for children by developing longstanding partnerships with a variety of agencies and organizations; under her expert direction, the organization has nearly doubled its service provision and has grown to serve 57 campuses across five counties; her strong interpersonal skills and her passion for helping students achieve their goals have made her an invaluable addition to this exemplary program; and WHEREAS, As an award winner, Suki Steinhauser is being honored for her exemplary efforts to reduce dropout rates and help students prepare for a better future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Suki Steinhauser on her dedication to the needs of at-risk students and congratulate her on being named Communities In Schools 2011 Executive Director of the Year; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
