SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 794
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Andrea Cazares, who recently won the 2011 national
championship in powerlifting; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Seagraves High School, Andrea has won
three consecutive state championship titles, and she achieved
her first national title after having finished as runner-up the
previous year; and
WHEREAS, Known for her exceptional work ethic and her daily
workout routine, she holds numerous regional, state, and
national records in her weight division; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding student-athlete who plans to enter
the interior design program at Texas Tech University, Andrea is
truly deserving of recognition for her many outstanding
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Andrea Cazares on her hard work and
determination and extend congratulations to her on winning the
2011 national championship in powerlifting; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
