SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 798
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Denny D. Davis for his 20 years of loyal service as
senior pastor of Saint John Church; and
WHEREAS, Over the last 20 years, Pastor Davis has
ministered faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of
innumerable Christians; and
WHEREAS, Under his outstanding leadership, Saint John
Church has provided enlightenment, hope, and support to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Davis is dedicated to helping others and is
a source of inspiration to his followers; celebrations in his
honor, and in honor of First Lady Reverend Wanda Bolton-Davis,
are taking place in May; the theme chosen for the 20th
anniversary of his service is "Committed to Service--A Time of
Reflection"; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, Pastor
Davis has performed countless ceremonies and has prayed for and
counseled church members in times of hardship and bereavement;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby join the members of Saint John Church in
commending Dr. Denny D. Davis for his outstanding service to the
church, his fellow man, and the community; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
