SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 825 In Memory of Gonzalo V. Castillo, Jr. WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Gonzalo V. Castillo, Jr., who died March 29, 2011, at the age of 74; and WHEREAS, Gonzalo V. Castillo, Jr., was an exemplary citizen who was widely admired in his community for his many achievements; and WHEREAS, Mr. Castillo served the nation with honor and distinction for 33 years as a member of the United States Army Reserve; he was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8936; and WHEREAS, He enjoyed a productive and fulfilling career with the United States Department of Agriculture as a food inspector, helping to ensure the safety of the nation's food supply; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, his warmth, and his exemplary work ethic will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Gonzalo V. Castillo, Jr.: his loving wife of 53 years, Esperanza; his children, Patricia, Gonzalo, Chris, and Alma Delia; and his granddaughter, Alexa Rae; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gonzalo V.
