SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 853
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize David Julian Villarreal, who recently won a Texas Media
Award from the Texas Library Association; and
WHEREAS, David Villarreal, a student at Wernecke
Elementary School, received honorable mention in the color
photography division for his presentation, "The Sky is the
Limit"; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Media Awards program promotes
excellence in amateur media production and its importance in
lifelong learning by recognizing publicly the most outstanding
entries in several media categories; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Media Awards program is sponsored by the
Texas Media Awards committee and the Media and Related
Technologies Round Table of the Texas Library Association and the
Texas Association of School Librarians; and
WHEREAS, The program has been an annual, statewide event
for school-age Texas residents since 1988; students with winning
entries received awards at the Texas Media Awards program during
the Texas Library Association's annual conference; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby congratulate David Julian Villarreal on
receiving a Texas Media Award in the color photography division
and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
