SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 920 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Arlene Lois Youngblood, who is retiring from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality after nearly 28 years of outstanding service to the state; and WHEREAS, She began her career in state service as an assistant coordinator for volunteer services with the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation; she went on to serve with the Texas Department of Transportation, the Office of the Governor, the Texas Rehabilitation Commission, the Texas Building and Procurement Commission, and the Texas Youth Commission before joining the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality; and WHEREAS, Throughout her career, she has been noted for her superior skills, expertise, and adaptability; she has performed a wide variety of duties during her state service, including serving as grant program manager, training manager, quality service facilitator, manager of bid services, and contract specialist; and WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Arlene Lois Youngblood on her exceptional service to the people of Texas and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
