SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 929 In Memory of Sammie Lindsay Cadenhead WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Sammie Lindsay Cadenhead, who died April 24, 2011, at the age of 95; and WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen who was widely admired in her community for her many achievements, Sammie Cadenhead was born December 30, 1915, in Marshall; she graduated from Marshall High School in 1933 as valedictorian of her class; and WHEREAS, She married Dick Cadenhead in 1939 and provided him with enduring love and support as he pursued his career with the Made Right-Dr Pepper Bottling Company; and WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Sammie Lindsay Cadenhead: her daughter, Ann Cadenhead McNutt; her granddaughters, Lindsay McNutt and Alden Brosseau; her sister, Texie Lindsay Morris; and her brothers, Sam, Walter, and Dick Lindsay; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sammie Lindsay Cadenhead.
