SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 999
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Juan Barrientes, Sr., on the joyous occasion of his
80th birthday, on June 12, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Juan Barrientes was born June 12, 1931, in
Brownsville, Texas; he was married to the late Felicitas Garza
Barrientes for 43 years; the couple was blessed with 10 children;
and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Brownsville, Mr.
Barrientes had a successful career with the Public Utilities
Board of Brownsville, where he worked for 36 years; his hobbies
include fishing and bowling; and
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of his community,
Juan Barrientes is a source of strength and support to his family
and many friends, and he is held in high esteem by all who have
the privilege of sharing in his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Juan Barrientes, Sr., on his many
achievements and extend best wishes to him on the occasion of his
80th birthday; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him in honor of this special occasion.
