H.R. No. 109 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Jean Callison concluded her distinguished service as a member of the Plano City Council in May 2011; and WHEREAS, First elected as the Place 7 council member in 2003, Ms. Callison was returned to office by the voters in 2005 and 2008; she has been active in her community in numerous ways, serving on the City of Plano tree ordinance committee, as a committee vice chair in the National League of Cities, and as a committee member for the Plano Independent School District Education Foundation; and WHEREAS, Ms. Callison has also served as president of the Plano chapter of the Young Men's Service League, the Junior League of Plano, and a local parent-teacher association; in addition, she was the treasurer of Plano Youth Leadership, a board member of the Plano chapter of the National Charity League, a board member and officer of the Assistance Center of Collin County, and a member of the Leadership Texas Class of 2009; her work has been recognized with awards from Leadership Plano and from the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center; and WHEREAS, A resident of Plano for more than three decades, Jean Callison graduated from Plano Senior High School and earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from Baylor University; in her work as a public servant, she has drawn on her eight years of experience as a budget and financial analyst at Electronic Data Systems; she is a member of ParkwayHills Baptist Church and has held many positions on the church board; and WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Ms. Callison enjoys the love and support of her husband, Glenn, and her two children; and WHEREAS, Jean Callison has demonstrated leadership and commitment as a member of the city council, and her contributions have helped make Plano an even better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jean Callison for her service on the Plano City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Callison as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
