 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary signifies a love that has
 stood the test of time, and five decades after exchanging their vows
 of matrimony, retired Brigadier General Richard A. Behrenhausen and
 Elizabeth Behrenhausen of El Paso celebrated this special milestone
 on June 7, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Dick Behrenhausen and the former Betsy Bunnell grew
 up in Pennsylvania and met when Miss Bunnell was a cheerleader at
 Muhlenberg High School; she went to Bucknell University, where she
 was also a cheerleader and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority; and
 WHEREAS, The couple married in 1961 on the day that General
 Behrenhausen graduated from the United States Military Academy at
 West Point, with his parents and grandfather attending the
 ceremony; her parents were told the big news afterwards; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, the Behrenhausens have shared a
 fulfilling marriage made even richer by the addition of three
 children, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Mike, and six grandchildren,
 Lindsay, Sara, Mathew, Madeleine, Ben, and Noah; and
 WHEREAS, General Behrenhausen served his country in the
 United States Army for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991, and he
 later was president and CEO of the McCormick Tribune Foundation;
 Mrs. Behrenhausen has devoted herself to her family and home
 throughout their marriage; and
 WHEREAS, This inspiring pair have enjoyed half a century of
 abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
 exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
 commitment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate retired
 Brigadier General Dick Behrenhausen and Betsy Behrenhausen on their
 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for General and Mrs. Behrenhausen as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
