H.R. No. 136 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Charlotte Ramsey of Cedar Park retired from Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Leander in 2011, drawing to a close a distinguished career as an educator that spanned four decades; and WHEREAS, Ms. Ramsey began teaching on a Native American reservation in Oklahoma in 1971; she joined the faculty of an elementary school in Cement, Oklahoma, in 1977 and taught there until 1981, when she began her seven-year tenure with that state's Ninnekah public school system; after briefly working in the insurance business, she returned to education, beginning her employment with the Leander Independent School District in 1991; and WHEREAS, Over the course of the next two decades, Ms. Ramsey taught at both Whitestone and Pleasant Hill Elementary Schools in Leander; she had the pleasure of seeing multiple sets of siblings pass through her classroom, and she served as a mentor to many of her fellow teachers; and WHEREAS, Charlotte Ramsey has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her students, and her hard work and diligence have made a positive difference in the lives of countless young people; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Charlotte Ramsey on her retirement from Pleasant Hill Elementary School and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Ramsey as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
